Here Comes Santa Claus

We kicked off the Christmas season earlier this month at a tree lighting in Virgina Highland. Santa flew in on his fire engine, which was actually a bigger hit than Santa himself.

After letting Greta catch a few glimpses of Santa that night we decided to give the official Santa visit and pictures a go. Instead of waiting in line at the mall, we headed to our little neighborhood market that brought in its own Santa and Mrs. Claus. I had pictured a cute setup with presents and reindeer, but they just pulled up a couple of chairs in front of the wine rack. With free wine tastings for the parents the only one unhappy with the whole thing was Greta.

In other news, it snowed!

Catching Up

The Christmas season photos are already starting to pile up, but first things first--here's what we were up to in November.

The Savannah Wades always ensure a good time and this trip was no exception. Greta just loved hanging out with her older cousins, especially sweet Henry.

October Fun

As you can see by the dwindling number of pictures of Greta, getting good snapshots of a very active toddler is no easy task. Here's our best effort of capturing what she's been up to this month.

Not a weekend day goes by without a trip to the park.

We had a great time at the JDRF walk. Thanks to all of you who donated!

asking for your support

Hi everyone,

I'm taking a short break from posting photos of my sweet daughter to ask for your support for a very special, personal cause.

On October 16th, Brooke and Greta and I be taking part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes along with a half-million other walkers across the country. Our goal is to raise $90 million to help fund research for a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.

JDRF is making steady progress toward a cure. In fact, JDRF funding is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date. And JDRF funds more type 1 research than any other charity worldwide.

Please visit my Walk Web page if you would like to donate online:

Thanks so much,
Chris

Long time, no see

Sorry for the lull in postings, but we've been busy trying to keep up with our little walker (or rather, runner). It seems like Greta has gone from calm baby to wild toddler overnight. Here's what we've been up to lately:

We visited the Schembri relatives in NY

We had some pre-game fun at a Braves game

We did some gardening

And finished each day with a thorough scrubbing

Greta is 1!

Well not quite, but we celebrated early with a birthday party in the park last weekend. We had a shady, breezy spot and I even heard the comment that it felt "kind of cool out" despite temps in the 90s. Thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate, even Grandma and Grandpa from NY!

All of the Mickle cousins were there

Gimme that cake!

Presents!

Greta took her first steps just in time for her birthday. Here she is at Nana's house looking like such a big girl.

So sweet :)

Summer Fun

Here are some recent pics of our girl.

4th of July in Decatur Square complete with parade, live music, and fireworks. Greta was the only child not decked out in red white and blue (bad parent!).

California!

I had a workshop in California last week so Chris and Greta joined me to escape the Atlanta heat and have some fun in the sun. We stayed through the weekend so I could have a little vacation, too. Thankfully, Greta did great on the plane and was up for anything during the trip.
